A delightful 12 miles through the Western Chilterns. Starting by the River Thames in the Berkshire town of Henley, the walker is soon passing through some seasonally colourful scenery on the way to Rotherfield Greys; thereafter, it's lunch at Rotherfield Peppard before passing through some lovely woodlands, with some quiet road walking thrown in (though the busy A4074 has to be navigated!). After further delightful woodland scenes, the scenery opens up towards the end of the walk near Whitchurch, and a large Alpaca farm comes into view.
After that, it's over The Thames via a toll bridge and on to Pangbourne.
A lovely walk for catching some delightful Autumn colours, which I hope I've managed to here.

  • it is hard to resist the urge to cast off one's slippers and pull on the wellingtons for a skip down these lovely footpaths.

  • Nice walk. I particularly enjoyed the beech woodland. One of my favourite treees.
