[updated] How To Download Left 4 Dead Skullptura (No Steam, No Torrents, +Patch and Online)

If you get error "You have no permission to run that", install Standalone patch.

If your game lags, try switching video options to low/try closing all unused programs, like uTorrent, internet, skype, etc./try to join low ping servers/if none of those work, probably your computer is not so good to handle the game.

If you have random game freezes, open console and type "mat_queue_mode 0″. It will help to disable multi-core for the game.

If its asks you to run Steam, patch you l4d with Standalone Patch, it removes Steam files (link above).

If you want to change your name, change PlayerName in rev.ini file in L4D folder, but when you're installing Standalone patch, after installation you get the same rev.ini file where you can change name.

If you're hearing weird sounds when you're close to fire - rain or anything else, rebuild your sound cache, open console and type "snd_rebuildaudiocache".

If you want to make server open console with "`" and write "map l4d", and choose map you want. To change difficulty/kick players etc. press esc. and there's "call a vote" menu. For more server commands go here - http://adf.ly/3c7fj.
If you want to change mode of map, type in console:
for survival: mp_gamemode survival
for versus: mp_gamemode versus
for coop: mp_gamemode coop

To clear this out, i am not Skullptura, i just posted he's game.

1)Download Zip 7 and install it (if you don't have it already).
2)Download Left 4 Dead Skullptura.
2.1)Extract it with Zip 7 to a new folder named Left 4 Dead.
2.2)Open Left 4 Dead folder what you just made and there search for file setup.bat.
2.3)Will pop up window with text Skullptura and click any key to continue.
2.4)Now wait till Skullptura extracts in that folder. When extracted follow the next steps (be patient and wait till Skullptura extracts, i got it done in 15mins, but it depends on your computer speed).
3)Download L4D Master Update 1.0.2.4. (yes it is huge), when downloaded open it with Zip 7 (YES, ZIP 7 NOT WINRAR, if you choose WinRar, you'll get errors!), select all those files and place them in Left 4 Dead folder (where Skullptura was extracted), and overwrite all those files with current ones.
3.1)Download L4D - 1024-1025 - Incremental Update, when downloaded install it, when it asks for Left 4 Dead folder, browse for it (folder, where Skullptura was extracted).
3.2)Download L4D Standalone v6 Beta 1, when downloaded install it like you did with L4D Incremental Update.

Now you have done installation and patching and now you can play the game singleplayer or multiplayer.
If you want to join server click 'Server Browser' and choose server with lowest latency or open Game Console by clicking '~' and write 'openserverbrowser' (without '').
If you want to play Single Player, just click 'Play Single Player'.
If you want to join any server by ip, open console and write "connect serverip", example "connect 122.144.2.12:27015"

yo i came back to download the game and i did evrything and when i open it everything looked the same so i open up server browser and theres no servers

@totaldramaactiontv Looks like none is playing pirated version anymore. Try to find some servers from net and then pasting server's ip to console.

@benjiman9111 That means, server got different version of l4d. You have 1026, server - 1025. Just try different server.
