What is the horn/funnel/cone thing attached to the carb called? i cant seem to find what they are called on google, plz help thank you.

if to smooth u get fuel puddling.

take video wile doing it ,we need to see how you do it & what tools do you use.
keep the great work up.

after i watched this vid i was thinking of something called the number of reynolds...
you can still have turbulent flow in polished cases... it won't go laminar just like that...
would like a reaction on what you guys think of that...

ohhh bollocks.. u again...

leaving texture is a thing of the past. In your case you would want a little because you are running what we call a wet manifold witch will help keep the fuel in suspension. but if you were running a newer EFI system with direct injection polish away. With direct injection you dont have the same problems with puddling as you would in an old TBI or carb set up becuase the injectors spray almost directly onto the back of the HOT valve causing atomization. for carbs look at a CNC manifold for reff.

You want a slight texture on the intake side to PROMOTE turbulence! Helps keep the air and fuel droplets mixed. The exhaust needs to be mirror smooth. [2]

yup, they are right on the atomization. looks good, but you DO need a slghtly textured surface to get the proper atomization for performance. being a small engine, i imagine that it still runs good, but if it were a performance engine in a car or bike, you would loose velocity at low RPM's resulting in less performance in the lower range. not so much up top. there are no limits on the exhaust side though. the better the polish, the better the flow.
It is called a velocity stack used on triumph motorcycles. Ebay usually has a few different ones for sale. RH DSD

i dont know about mirror polish, the gas wont atomize because its too smooth should go kinda rough.

Excellent point my friend. I am worrying about that myself. I noticed the Aluminum casting directly under the reed valve was purposely rough. Of course I smoothed it out. I hope the gas will atomize. RH

Im sorry to tell you m8 but things are made for a reason, youve probley just made it worse, its a hard lesson to learn but unfortunatlly you just shouldve researched a little before ruining your intake. please dont think im being a smart ass, im just advising that you bite the bullet and get a new one for your own sake.

The intake is working better than ever. I realize I am going against the grain of accepted theory, but It is a tiny motor and it works great. I have researched all facets of two stroke tuning but I a always learning. If I knew it all, I would just quit building the little engines. RH DSD
