The 2nd best song she ever wrote. Sometimes Like Butterflies #1. On My Honor #3. For a talent know for her dance songs, she sure can can write a killer ballad.
Donna Summers husband wrote this song... The song is about his parents. They got a divorce when they were up in years and married along time.If I research it again I can find the info for you. I always thought it was Dolly's sister Stella Parton wrote it. She is who I heard sing it yrs ago.... Then Reba come out with it or sang it at an awards show... Anyway it was Donna Summers' husband who wrote the song. Didn't realize Dolly came out with it or was on one here albums.
I did not know that! Thanks for the info.I should also give credit to her husband,Bruce for co-writing it.Still, to this day, I have never heard Dolly's version of the song.I have heard Reba's though.
Donna's a Dolly fan, but she didn't write this song for her. Dolly just heard Donna singing it and liked it, so she decided to record it. Donna's best performance of it was on her 1980 TV Special, and someone's uploading all of her TV special on YouTube, so that segment should be here soon.

What a gem!I never knew she had actually performed this song.I knew she had written it for Dolly Parton around 1979 or 80.she looks great too.
