Facelift with Robert Wyatt, Mike Ratledge, Hugh Hopper, Elton Dean and Lyn Dobson, is amazing, i think that this is the best Soft Machine era.

Robert Wyatt was the one with whom I had the most and the best rapport. He told me a lot about Robert Graves, and after that long train ride, I bought some of Robert Graves' books.

Way back in 1969 or thereabouts, I found myself in the same train compartment as The Soft Machine, on the train from London to Liverpool. They were all very nice, very kind, and highly intelligent and interesting people. Whe had great conversations and a lot of laughs.
