Re-upload of my video from March, 2011 !

Great success of Brenda Lee's hit reached in early 1960's also Poland.
The double date of the recording 1961/62 presented in the video has its reason: Polish version of the song was meant to be performed and recorded then by the young singer, Ludmiła Jakubczak (1939-1961); that news was announced in her last TV performance in the evening of November 5th, 1961. A few hours later Miss Jakubczak was tragically killed in the car accident when driving home with her husband, Jerzy Abratowski, a composer and musician. She was only 22. My video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nda05nzFgfQ is showing some documents of that tragic story, as well as the most moving song of Jakubczak - "Szeptem" (Whispering).

Brenda Lee's hit, never accomplished by Jakubczak, was transferred for performance, in a way, to her friend, a "singing actress", Kalina Jędrusik (a few years older and a few inches shorter than Ludmiła).

We may assume that interpretation of Miss Jakubczak would have been much different; she was a singer - par excellence. Whereas Miss Jędrusik was a drama actress and her interpretations of songs has always had a special air of the drama roles with a strong personal impact -- transferred by her unique, whispering husky, timbre of voice.

Sound recording made on the 1962 tape recorder Tonette directly from the TV transmission.

When singing this, she was sitting (I still remember) in a big armchair, room was in a dim light and the middle spoken-part, parlando, was made on a very close, close-up - only her eyes, brows, moving slightly... -
