Known as "The World's Greatest Storyteller," Dorothy Norwood is definitely a household name in the field of Gospel music! ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS!!

Here's one of my favorite songs that she recorded back in the 1960's; "Down To The River."

  • Maggie Ingram and the Ingramettes from Richmond Virginia also sing this song!!!

  • I've heard of Maggie Ingram before, but I've never heard her version of the song.

Also, there are a few other people from that same time period who have recorded this song, like Mahalia Jackson, Cleophus Robinson, and Bessie Griffin, among a few others. I like Dorothy's version a little more though!
