@vanmoody first of all the witches in Salem weren't burned at the stake, they were hanged and second they were just following what the Bible said: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. So they weren't extreme of radical, they were among the few 'true Christians' who actually followed everything the Bible said instead of cherry-picking the parts they didn't like like most "Christians" do today.

@reznor811 Who told you the real puritans did this? As in any religion there are nuts who do things others would not. It was not the majority of puritans or quakers who burned witches at the stake. Most were serious Christians who had the joy of the Lord. They truly were happy people, and were known to, "party" without the alcohol of course.
