  • Rumor has it your gonna start teaching at FDR park again, Thats really great cause I have 4 people that are interested.

  • I am trying to free up my time so I can teach at FDR park in Philadelphia again this Spring and Summer.

  • from my understanding, the correct chinese is 連五掌 not 連伍掌. Teacher told me 練武掌 is actually a different form entirely. 連 is the surname, 五 refers to the fifth brother, and 掌 is his palm style.

thanks again, Keith. ironically brandon just began helping me clean up what i remembered william taught me of lianwuzhang last night.

great stuff. i enjoy this form a lot.

  • that's good by the time you get back to the states you should be moving pretty good. Tell Brandon and Shifu I said hello and kiss the babies for me. I'm trying to put some real info out here. Also some info on Shifu and his teachers.

  • when you said william taught you, Wil or Bill

  • It's more properly "lian wu zhang" if translated using pinyin. 連伍掌 in chinese (also occasionally called 練武掌 - different meaning but similar pronounciation)

  • Yeah my teacher and I spoke about the meaning of Lian Wu zhang recently. Because someone had Martial palm listed as the meaning. He said that wasn't the meaning. That it's 5th brother Lian's palm. He also told me the same thing 18 years ago.

  • Astounded by your skills as always.

  • Will not Bill. i haven't seen Bill actually in about four years now.

anyhow, yeah, the last time i popped into philly Will and i got talking. i told him how much i like this form, so he said he'd show me it. so we spent that rainy afternoon on some tennis courts near temple u. working out....

  • though performed very differently, 練武掌might actually be the same form (as 連五掌). i just searched in on youtube.

i may of heard wrong...or perhaps there was a bit of a misunderstanding.

  • Sifu Kieth! nice! Looking great.
