Overall, the film was....meh. But what did you expect from the lords of disaster films?
Entertaining, but laughable....and with John Cusack.

  • The science isn't supposed to be accurate. It is about 2012 theories and what would happen if they were true, not what science predicts.

  • But that's just the thing, they try to explain it with botched science. If they really wanted to just focus on the theories, they could've used the numerous other scientifically plausible explanations rather than assuming the audience doesn't know that neutrinos can't mutate.

Still was entertained though, but as much as I am with a Nicholas Cage or Arnold Schwarzenegger action flick

  • cant wait for avatar.

  • I won't be seeing this movie but loved your review!! I always go along with the conspiracy theory!!!!

  • Also, the horror of this movie was sucked out when the Mayans themselves said that this whole "apocalypse in 2012" was bullshit, and that there was another piece of the calendar that proves that the years on the calendar itself go well into the 4700's.

This really does look like a bad movie, but with good effects. I swear, can't they just make a movie that's NOT about the end of the world, or a horrible disaster?

  • yeah...they could have used some other way to describe the particles...perhaps that they interacted with other particles that cause such junk to happen, but yeah, it doesn't sound like they had any scientists to assist them in those things

  • I watched this yesterday and my first reaction after it finished was what you said. Might as well of watched the day after tomorrow. The girl with the dog is forgotten about, the girl whos husband has died and her reaction is like, oh never lets snog with cusack. 'm positive thats a normal reaction oh well great review

  • You know, they had so much material to work with when it comes to 2012 theories (like pole-switching and the loss of the magnetosphere, and what do they give us? Particles that MUTATE? Mutation occurs in cells-- living organisms. Not particles. Wikipedia could have told you that. At least use a different freaking word.

I think the 1 star was from John Cusack :-P

  • great review dude
