Laura Nyro performing Desiree, I couldn't find this on youtube so I just made it.
It is presumed and almost sure that Laura Nyro's treatment of her song "Desiree" is one of the most undisguised professions of love by a woman singing to another woman ever recorded.
I just love Laura Nyro!

  • i saw her many times at small clubs in manhattan....nothing like hearing her live....she definately had her dedicated fans

  • @55macris How was Laura in concert ? I live and work in NYC and have seen and met so many artists over the years but never did get to see Nyro. I guess I figured that there would always be time enough to see her. Obviously and unfortunately, that was not to be. My loss. Glad she is finally entering the R and R Hall of Fame, although I always felt that accolades as such were never really important to her.

  • laura is the most amazing singer....was lucky to see her perform in nyc many times

  • My all-time favorite singer. Love her more than anything. Lucky enough to see her, with only a piano and a vase of red roses, at Boston's Music Hall in '69 or '70. Laura blessed us all. Thanks for this post.

  • Wow 10,000 hoorah, Much respect, 3assal

  • i think the first time i heard this was a home at the end of the world

  • yay i have been waiting for this on youtube, was amazing.

  • She sings like an angel. R.I.P. angel.

  • @kdbgc10 Are you asking what happened to Laura? She passed away in 1997.
