What if there were no stop signs, and a major corporation was charged with inventing one? They'd brief their agency and let them do it. Sorta. Welcome to corporate creativity, where groupthink and endless revisions help good ideas get executed.

I figure I can show this video to wife to explain why after a long day of web design I come home and drink.

That video just replicated every project I have ever worked on... I absolutely love it! ...but could you change it into something completely different...

Those who love this video, will love one short-story as well: just google for "seven red lines" (cannot paste a link to it here).

Good to hear you say that it is obviously 'to the extreme' because I can quite honestly say that this is NOT very different from what I deal with on a daily basis. But I work exclusively with one (such huge) client so it is good to hear this is normally an exaggeration. Worst (most accurate) part of this - those corporate types who throw all this at you are never tired, never stressed... because they pass all that to you, you do the work, you get exhausted, they get the credit!

This is obviously to the extreme, however, there are clients who will ask for multiple revisions and make vague requests. Through those requests most will have expected you to have read their minds and gotten it right the first couple of tries. It can be more than a little frustrating at times. I still find it to be valuable work, even given the constant "We like it but we thought it could be more..." . Good luck studying!
