@nebiz2pro I'm pretty sure it's not the literal "hell". When they say "I've been to hell and back again", I think he means that he's gone through a very rough time, not literally hell.

@nebiz2pro that's an interpretation. I think it's "hell" and not "heaven" and I haven't found a different transcription of the lyrics so...
