One would think so, yes, but equally unlikely physical behaviour is often seen in dramas. For instance, the discharge from a casually held shot-gun is often shown lifting the victim off his feet while the gun itself exhibits little recoil.
In many westerns, a sniper in an upper room is shot by the hero and comes bursting through the glass window as if propelled violently from behind.
It would not be so bad except that such films are often credited with 'stark realism'.

Why DO media-people (and cartoonists) promulgate this completely loony view of the behaviour of magnets? The latter obey Newton's third law, so how exactly does a lightly-held magnet pull a suit of armour toward itself? On top of that, some of the objects being attracted are probably not even ferromagnetic! No wonder that there are so many crackpots on YouTube who think that magnets are magic and can produce energy or antigravity!
