Tanasescu (dans "Dinu Lipatti" - Editura Muzicala, Bucuresti, 2000) précisent que les trois manuscrits de l'oeuvre(datés 7-18 aout 1939 et dédicacés "A Mlle Nadia Boulanger") indiquent les tempi suivants: I. Allegretto; II. Andante cantabile; III. Allegro grazioso et IV. Resoluto-Andante. Dont acte.
Par ailleurs, les manuscrits portent le motto suivant:
"J'ai composé cette histoire - simple, simple, simple,
