Well, yes, one can see the human legs but if you encounter such on dark street you won't notice those legs...i bet.

They were probably more interested in match the scale of a actual dinosaur. So the leg would have to be the height of the puppeteer which I'm sure would make it hard to hide the legs. The kids didn't seem to be noticing the legs too much anyway. :)
