The name 'Leonard Smalls' is actually from a famous book and movie called "Of Mice and Men". It's the character that is best friends with George, and George looks after Leonard because he is a bit slow mentally.
FTW, Leonard's favorite thing on the planet in "Of Mice and Men"? ... Rabbits. Gotta love the Coen Bros.
