鄧麗君 in her 1982年10月香港無線電視《鄧麗君特輯》sang it without the “spoken bridge”. I listened them sing the same song side-by-side. Both Teresa and Charlene had great voice although Teresa’s 1982 voice was much sweeter and silkier. Also I can not help to notice the presence of her breathing in between verses when Charlene sang it while Teresa’s rendition was so smooth. Perhaps I’m biased but it was after all 鄧麗君 who re-introduced me to this song last night after all these years.

I remembered this song 「I've Never Been To Me」from way past but did not know that it was also performed by 鄧麗君 in 1982. Last night I heard Teresa’s rendition for the first time and liked it, which re-kindled my interest into searching for some background information about this 1977/1982 single by Charlene Oliver. According to Wikipedia, its first release in 1977 was a version different from the re-release in 1982, but both included the “spoken bridge”.

Didn't know she likes this song too :)

Too bad...... she died of Asthma attack on 1995. She has a gorgeous voice!

All languages are beautiful. But I have to say, every words spoke from her sounds like heaven!

She's got a very good English pronunciation for a Chinese.
It's a shame she has passed away.
Beautiful voice.

@myo007 Yes, Teresa did a video of this song in Mandarin, with an entirely different visual story. I saw it on a friend's videoke and was hoping this was it. It includes the spoken bridge.

Especially when I heard Teresa Teng sang this lovely song -- which was popular in the 80's -- I could never stop admiring her talent & her beauty; her English pronounciation is perfect which only a few can have after years of learning. To her every language becomes so natural ....
I've never been to me....too

I used to feel that way too. Just a couple of years ago, I would have said, "Neither have I."
Walking closer to God, I have a sense of purpose in life, in knowing who I was and what I am. I can honestly say that He is the reason and the source of my life.

I am looking for her really pretty song that starts with the piano. What is the name of it? Help me. I really love that song. If someone can tell me both English and Chinese name I would appreciate it. But it absolutely starts with piano--really soft.

Hello, so far I hv only seen a clip that TT sings & plays piano. She only sings short part of that Japanese song & I love it very much too. Try hkshipsforteresateng channel & the title is 鄧麗君 ~ 知床旅情 Shiretoko Ryojyou. Hope this is the one you are looking for & George, the owner has put pin yin as well as English translation. Enjoy & best regards!

I remember TT sang "但愿人长久 May we be together forever" in a TV special where a famed pianist accompanied her. The song however did not feature a piano instrumental intro in her concerts or records.

I hope others can help, but it would help us find the song for you if you could remember just the first few words of the lyrics.

You could try to search 但愿人长久 on youtube and see if it is the TV special version of this song.
