@SethAY68 You gotta be kidding me. The industrialized countries like Germany are doing way better than the US for the last decade. You don't know much, that's why you believe in Germany they dont have a choice. Oh yes they have cause there a lots of insurance companies. There are some who are government run for those who are employed. Every self-employed citizen can choose a free one. An employee can choose additional ones too.

@SethAY68 i doubt having govt run health care has too much to do with a country going bankrupt or not. alot of those european industrialized countries are faring better than america. im under impression it was americas economy who crashed first and then most others followed after. anyways i dont think there should be companies whos #1 GOAL IS PROFIT have anything to do with giving health care. thats a social conflict of interest.

@lee0122333 I'm guessing several industrialized countries in Europe have socialized medicine, and those countries' economies are worse off than the United States' because the government got to big. The thing about private health insurance is that if I don't like my current provider, I can switch to another company. If the only choice was government-run universal health care, I wouldn't have that choice because they control that market. that's why capitalism works

@SethAY68 neither do i, and "trust" was the wrong word. point is the govt runs those important things fine, whos to say they couldnt run health care. US is the only industrialized country NOT to have govt run health care. those insurance companies 1st priority is to make a profit. i would hope that u watch this documentary and do some research on the side. its cheaper for me to pay for travel insurance from canada for 30 days travelling to US than for an american citizens insurance lol.

@lee0122333 in Tulsa where I live, several cops just went to jail for getting kick backs from drug dealers so I don't trust them really
-
@SethAY68 ok but you trust them with cops, fire fighters, libraries lol

Moore made the documentary fahrenheit 9/11 which was very eye opening about how the government is corrupt. does he expect the government to do a responsible job of providing health care for the nation? that's the biggest problem I have with socialized medicine, I can't trust politicians with something so important
Top work from Michael Moore again. Unfortunately, as you'll note from some of the comments, many Americans (who call themselves "conservatives") are in denial about just how badly the American people have been shafted by their own ruling classes. These are the people who will just label Moore a "liberal", saying "He's biased!" and they'll refuse to go and see them movie. They are also likely to deny global warming. Freaks and losers.

Everyone: I just wrote a letter to my congressman, urging him to improve our health system, and I haven't lived in the US for 4 years (though still a US citizen). If I can do something, so can you. If you walk out of Sicko hoping that you'll get better health care, but then do nothing, then you will have wasted the momentum created by this film. We must act now if we want change!
