Vincent Dumestre se consacre à la musique pour théorbe, guitare baroque et luth. Il joue dans de nombreux ensembles tels que le Ricercar Consort, La Simphonie du Marais, Le Concert des Nations, La Grande Ecurie et la Chambre du Roy, Akadémia & le Centre de musique baroque de Versailles. En 1997, il fonde Le Poème Harmonique, salué dès le début par la critique, et est élu « jeune talent de l'année 1999 » par la revue française Diapason. Ses enregistrements reçoivent de nombreuses récompenses. En 2004, Vincent Dumestre est nommé Chevalier des Arts et Lettres.

  • @sh1k4n Thanks for your answer, sir! Nice to hear the whole piece by Hopkinson Smith, though I prefer Dumestre's much more dreamy and introspective interpretation of this very part. Is this piece a tribute from De Visée to Couperin or just a transcription of one of his harpsichord works for theorbo?
