(May 29, 2009) Is there such a thing as clean coal? The industry wants you to think so. But clean doesn't mean non-polluting. The questions around coal's future as an energy source are part of a bigger debate over the earth's environmental future.

NEVER EVER go by installed capacity on Solar and Wind. They are intermittent and their installed capacity is based on the highest power it is able to produce. A 2.5 MW turbine may produce 1MW for 1 hour, then 500W the next, then 2MW the next, then 100W the next. Very intermittent and unreliable. Also what about the massive amount of land that is required. That is what green fad people do, completely overlook the real science.

  • @ToxicBrainSyndrome thats fine for the future but coal powers 50% of this country and you can not build enough wind turbines in the next 20 years to power this country. and if your one of these people who want to get rid of coal and pay LOADS of money on your electric bill every month so you can breath clean air just remember that all the coal that china burns without filters like we do gets up into the jet stream and lands right smack in the middle of america

  • @ToxicBrainSyndrome Thats all fine for the future but right now we need COAL. It powers 50% of this country and you can not build enough wind turbines in the next 20 years to be able to power this country. And just remember that all the coal that china burns goes up into the jet stream and lands right in the middle of America so if your one of these people who wants your electric bill to sky rocket so you can breath clean air..... its not going to happen

  • Wind energy. If we took 1 tillion dollars the cost of the wars in you know where. 1 trillion/4 million (estimated cost of scale for a commercial one wind turbine) would net 25 billion wind turbines. One wind turbine can generate 2.5MWh electricity. 2.5MWh can power 350 homes in a northern cold state. 25 billion X 250 homes? I think that pretty much covers the US needs for power. Just having fun here, don't shoot the messenger. nuclear, solar, geothermal..we need to grow up fast.

  • you can not clean coal, it is by first the most dirty way of energy we use today and we need to stop.. now using wind and solar should not cost that much there for it. get rid of Nuclear and coal start by wind and solar.... and again if my power gets shut off I will turn it back on myself.. end of story

  • Clean coal is bullshit.

  • The 2nd plant is John E. AAmos Power Plant in WV USA

    AEP

  • 3:20 Chinese can't have clean power because this winter is so cold and they care for the warmth and well-being of the workers. Ha ha! Petty rubbish

  • the music over u video is unprofessional , y may wana change it.
