WEST FALMOUTH - A man has been burned over 36 percent of his body after the car he and others were in crashed and caught fire on Route 28 in Falmouth at about 2:20 this afternoon.

The person was trapped in the vehicle after it collided with a tree, according to emergency radio communications.

A MedFlight helicopterwas called to Falmouth Hospital to pick up the burn victim and is on its way.

The accident, which was reported shortly after 2:20 p.m., was in the vicinity of the Sippewisset Road exit of Route 28.
