Thank you for your video. I was not even aware of all the maintenance work I had to do (other than oil changes) to my snow blower. I bought it new 2 years ago, and your video is very helpful. Your explanation was very clear. Thanks again for taking the time to make this instructional video. This is what I love about YouTube, people sharing their expertise and knowledge.

@HDReynoldsGenMdse Thank you! i'll go to a Ariens dealer.
Do you recommend a low temperature grease or does a general purpose grease work just fine?

@PLM630 Whatever is in your grease gun will be fine. The grease is just to coat the shaft so that the auger doesn't rust up to it. The most important thing is to remove the shear pins and to rotate the auger after you grease it so that the grease coats the whole shaft. Then replace the pins.

How do you lubricate the gear case (inside that silver thing). i have an older model Ariens ST5+2 and i removed the tap bolt from the gear case and saw some old white grease. i'd like to know what kind of grease/oil should i use. thanks

@jerinxd Originally that would have had Ariens L-2 synthetic gear oil. If you are seeing a white grease, it is probably Ariens Liquid Grease. If you have an Ariens dealer nearby, he should have it. If not you can call us and order it. If you prefer to look for a substitute, the spec on it is "Semi Fluid N.G.L.I. No. 00 Lithium E.P. Complex Grease" Hope that helps.
