A dark silent film made with stop frame animation about Nellie, a poor Irish immigrant who befriended a wealthy girl named Samantha who gave her a beautiful porcelain doll. It is now winter and years have passed. Nellie is now living on the streets, doll in arms, cold and hungry. She rejoices when she finally sees her old friend again, in her fine expensive coat and boots, buying peanuts a short distance away. Her happiness turns into a desperate escape and a search to be with the only friend she ever had. Based on the characters from the Samantha books in the American Girls Collection. Music from the movie Pan's Labyrinth. A Doll Motion Production.

  • Why the hell did they have to discontinue Samantha?!?!?

  • @se1992 tellll me about it.

  • As stop-motions goes and considering the gaps between each frame, I found this amazingly good considering what was available. Keep up the good work and one day you'll be joining my industry.

PS-I won't be buying the doll for my daughter either. She has enough of them.

  • @digitalbroadcaster thank you for your input! it's nice to hear from people who are actually in the film industry.
