UPDATED INFO HERE: http://exm.nr/bwcJQf

The sand covering most of the beach was of a much different consistency from the beach closer to the water (very gritty and filled with broken shells). There were lots of piles of sand dumped on the beach as well as the sand covering everything else. After shooting this video, two local deputies, who came to escort us off the beach, confirmed that BP had been trucking in sand to the beach and smoothing it over.

The bottom layer of sand is very tarry in some places and very thick and hard in others. The degraded oil is forming a hard layer a few inches under the dumped sand.

  • There has been next to no coverage of the BP oil cover up here in Canada. Can you please tell us if the oil is still coming up from plumes up to 10 miles away. Matt Simmson refered to this in one of his interviews?

  • this video is total rubbish

  • @JudsonParker it would take hundreds of truck s to cover up the old sand, people would see that also when the "oil sand" is showed in this video look at the water next to it no sheen of oil on the surface = its not oil sand only a person with no knowledge of erosion

  • @busguy100 Do a Google search for the following article, and scroll down through the pictures, including dump trucks on the beaches: "Cleanup or coverup? BP is dumping sand over oil on our beaches"

  • @UglyGirlSingsGood You do not need to fear BLACK RAIN as it will never happen

  • so somehow billions of pounds of sand was put on the beach and NO ONE saw any trucks or equipment doing it? You also do not show the OIL only say it is, to me it looks like a grayer sand that got washed up on the beach during a major storm and then it was covered by regular wave action moving the normal beach sand.

  • @mrbobdog261 there's nothing we can do except wait for it to run out, then alternatives will come through market pressures because oil will be too expensive.

  • Clam digging anyone?

  • 35 idiots, not too bad.

Good work at exposing this. All the real day to day crimes of bp have been exposed by all the good people who took it upon themselves to film this event, sans corporate media checks.

  • it shows ppl will do anything for money instead of standing up doing the right thing
