Yes... turn the music way down... the listener's ear has to compete between the vocal and music track and all one gets is cacophony.

I'm reading in search of valis and VALIS right now but I admit I'm shitting my pants waiting for the full 8,000 pages worth of content to be released (no doubt the bound version will be smaller... hopefully) for the first time ever.
