  • suicide is not the answer, unless the question is "how do i get published?"

  • It is one of, if not my favorite, book.........

  • stop it stop it stop it.....NO ONE CARES ABOUT SUICIDE......just the book. its amazin

  • @MckyMseNTarotCrds this Michael Lewis's filmed abortion would have offended JKT's sense of taste and decency, stunned his disbelieving eyes, shocked his virginal mind, and sealed his valve up for good :)

  • Dunces is a pretty good litmus test. If you didn't like it, we're probably not going to become very good friends.

  • @robertkstephen Thank you! I was just saying basically that on another Dunces thread. I think it's mainly just the people who are from New Orleans that see the novel that way, but that's all they focus on. "Oh, the city is a character, blah blah. It brings New Orleans to life, blah blah." Dunces could've been set anywhere and would have been just as good. I don't even remember there being all these big descriptions of the city some people seem to. It's just the setting.

  • i agree with michael lewis. this is a great book with some of the best dialogue ever. i am glad some AP English teachers are making their students make video projects for it (although the video projects are pretty awful, i'm glad they're reading the book and making the attempt with the usual high school humor).

  • He was great on Jon Stewart.

  • "street life of new orleans" blah blah.... hardly worth mentioning: the story is so much more than that.

mr lewis might get a big kick out of anne rice's vampire stories too!

  • I found myself laughing out loud. The scenes in the Levy Factory were hilarious.
