1: The mans life was in obvious danger. He might have died anyway. Japanese pilots were no different. Theres a pretty high chance that they would have died if theyd engaged the american forces conventionally.
2. Like I said, this example was more direct. The intent of the kamikaze/driver is the same though.
Lastly, I agree theres similarities between modern suicide bombers and kamikazes. The key difference is kamikazes never ever targeted civilians.

@Qyburnator Certainly the Kamikaze pilots were conditioned for their suicide with various piles of lies. However, if you read or hear a variety of surviving (those who never got to take off) Kamikaze pilots accounts, it's pretty clear that the act was perceived the 'easiest way'. Also for those who had stopped believing in the japanese military or for those who were scared. And this is exactly the same goal that Hamas et al have when they choose and condition a person for a suicide attack.

@Qyburnator Don't be so bloody silly.
1: The man was obviously killed in an accident, and did not commit suicide.
2: No Kamikaze pilot ever chose between his own life or his pregnant wife's life.
Thank you for tip "towerdlotus", I know the history of Sakai, he was a great japanese ace!
I will search more about the book "SAMURAI"
Thanks for the tip;
Have a nice day! :)
