what version of Subtitle workshop u use ? i downloaded 2.5 version , but it says didnt support the format .txt .

use Subtitle workshop, open a video, and add the text subtitle text to the movie, and then save as a srt file

You can't edit ASF Files from version 1.3d... bud it also don't support versions 1.0-1.3c... Don't know why, it's strange
well, like I said, I'm sure it can be converted into *.avi first and then edited in vdub without problems.

Thanks to motherfucking Windowsers and their patent #6,041,345 you can't do this with some videos. So I'm searching for something better like Vidmex (but I don't have money to buy this)

I don't think so, I can do this with any video, maybe previous conversion from stupid formats like *.mov can be helpful

Will you be able to put subtitles on and off like you can on dvd's? Please reply.

No you won't. subtitles will be a fixed part of video frames. It's helpful, when you want to put a video with subtitles on youtube, for example.

because you have to download it and put in virtualdub plugin directory or you can download vobsub and install it in your system including vdub plugins.
