Martha Stewart Renounces Fur, Hosts PETA Video Exposé

"I used to wear real fur," says Martha Stewart in her new video on PETA.org, "but, like many others, I had a change of heart when I learned what actually happens to the animals."

I must argue against faux fur, though. All garments under $150 can be labeled as "faux fur," even if it is indeed authentic fur. It can also be labeled as "imitation" or an animal it actually isn't. For instance, over 90% of faux fur in the U.S. and Canada is actually dog and cat from imported by China and (legally) mislabeled.

The fact that the government allows this practice to continue, is criminal.

I would advise everyone to not purchase anything if they are in doubt. We all vote with our dollars - no matter what the cause.

The whole thing is just dispicable, but at 3:15 that animal breaks my heart to pieces completely, the pain it must have been in I can only imagine...I have 2 dogs and couldnt imagine something that evil happening. My heart fell to my stomach.

Animals have personalities and will love you if you give them a chance..Animals help the blind , they help all sorts of disabled people...and this is the thanks we give them...makes me fukkin sick!

@agenthelios1 I absolutely agree. No matter how many times I see this, I still feel the pain as if it were the first time I'd seen it. As difficult as it is to watch, I felt it necessary to post for others, some rather naive, as to where exactly fur comes. Fur always looks better on the original owner.

@DianeDi Another thing that people need to know is that showing these videos and protesting will do NO good. The people doing it obviously dont care and never will.

The people doing this to these animals obviously speak the language of violence and cold hearttedness, so why are we trying to speak to them with logic and understanding? To really get these animals the help they need I think we need to speak to the perpetrators of animal abuse like this in the language they understand.

@agenthelios1 Although the people doing this are cold hearted, no doubt, they are doing it for one reason, money. The true culprits are these mega corporations that purchase their products to sell for huge profits. It's important to never purchase furs and skins - as this is what puts a halt to this disgusting business. Corporations are all about "supply and demand" and once the demand is gone, they no longer require any supply. So many faux products these days... no need for fur.

Hey Martha, while I agree with you about the animal cruelty in this video, how about the CRUELTY OF THE UNBORN BABIES GETTING ABORTED???? You say you have 'Freedom of Choice' and would you speak out on the infants getting slaughtered worse than these animals? No you would not and the same goes for PETA! YOU have lost the sense of what should be our REAL priority and hate the animal killings but say nothing about the baby killings daily in this country and world. Shame on you for that!
