  • thank goodness no one believes in this weak philosophy, or else people would give up and not fight!

  • @cleopatrabonz Sadly enough there are people who believe in it. Wisdom in my humble opinion is to fight at the right time at the right place, with the right means ;) and let it go, where fighting would be invane - impossible to find this point...

  • This is one of those films that I never thought I would ever watch!!!

Fay Bainter's Best Actress Oscar nominated performance (Bette Davis - "Jezebel" won)!!!

    Thank You!!!

  • Most people misunderstood her meaning. She stood up, fought for Peter when Raines was beginning to over chastise him for his lying. She fought for Peter in telling his real father not to interfere. She was not saying lay down and die. You fight for the good of others and especially the innocent. Fighting for that patent would have taken thousands and years with stress and sorrow. Her philosophy is correct. Excellent movie.

  • loved the movie. i was hoping , though, that someone would do something for hanna, so she didn't have to sell apple anymore.

  • What a great cast! What a good film! Max Steiner rehashed the musical theme at 1:03 and at the closing cast.list for Mildred Pierce. Many thanks for sharing!!

  • @eastendersfreak91

Bainter's subtle, quietly moving performance was truly special!!!

  • @eastendersfreak91

"A Cosmopolitan Production" - that means William Randolph Hearst, the inspiration for "Citizen Kane"!!!

  • Thanks for this nice movie!
