  • I agree,Bland lifless corporate shite Today and they are pushing the market Traders out of the centre as is evident getting rid of the Markets.People like leolodreamland are in exactly that.A dreamland because it is being pushed out.We have a generation that dont care about its heritage, yet a corporation which will capitalise on there gullability by the greed, by Brand, yet have the nerve to complain to protest shit and say its not fair. When its all gone your lack of support will sit with you.

  • fucking whinging market traders. they're still whinging today because of the wholesale refurbs...

  • It took em 10 years but they did it,apart from leaving the Rotunda......Not the same...Bless you Frank Ellis.

  • This is like an episode of Jeremy Kyle!

  • I used to love the old Bull Ring. God, I miss it. Good honest folk and rough and ready shops. Bland, lifeless shit now.

  • You know Gawj i currently work there in Security and I walked past the Indoor market the other day.I couldnt help but feel sad to see the Rag,OutDoor and Indoor pushed to the side on Edgbaston Street.BullRing use to house Family Buisness but has now turned into something your Grandad was trying to stop.A Centre for Corporate greed which pushed the cmmon man out in the street.

  • I agree totally with your Grandad.I worked there when I was 16 for my Uncle and Auntie at the Indoor and had some wonderfull memorys myself.Sadly the markets to me are getting pushed out slowly by high rent.I guess Frank knew this was coming and tried to stop it but in the end you cant fight impending change. This is what the wanted and knew what they would get in the end.

  • Frank is my Grandad and is a very strong beliver, he has lived and breathed that market, even to this very day. He worked there since a very young age and he never stoped till he was 72 ! i am so proud of you !!

  • That man is my Grandad and he has has stuck to his word even now, he lived and breathed that market and he loved it like a man and his dog, since he was 15 he has worked there and done all in his will to keep that market going strong. His name is Frank and past away last year at the age of 72 and he was still working there!

  • RED BRICK?! I nearly threw up when she said the 'new' Bull Ring would be built in 'pleasant' sandstone.

That's the problem with architecture: tastes change ever so quickly. Personally, I love big bolshy lumps of concrete, it has character in my opinion. If the old Bull Ring was maintained & cleaned properly, I'm sure she would be here today, or even dare I say it listed along with the Rotunda, which after restoration, looks absolutely beautiful.
