This video was taken June 25, 2010. Although it was a hazy day the video shows the view from the location of a few of Horizon's proposed turbines.
The first part of the video shows Horizon's test tower at the top of Loch Lomond. This is close to where there originally planned to install turbines. The proposed to move them back a few hundred metres. Next you will see a view from the latest proposed turbines behind Loch Lomond Ski hill. Notice how close they will be to the hills. At 100m above the mountain you get a good idea of the viewpoint of the turbines and the view they get of the city.
Also note the rare Maple grove at the top of the Nor'Wester mountains. Sugar maples are not idiginous to our area, but they are here.
The helicopter then moves off towards Big Thunder ski hill. This is the orignal location of the turbines. From this vantage point the city is hardly viewable. They are far away from residences and clearly out of view.
The last part of the video shows a view further back on loch lomond mountains. A setback of another kilometre would keep them out of view.
There is a solution to this project. Horizon isn't telling you everything!
