@prietoanachronism No. There was no pitch standard at the time. Authentic performances stick with 415 Hz since that's a good approximation of what a lot of composers used. Bach however even played his organ 460+ Hertz at a time.

The pitch of A at J. S. Bach's time was 415 Hz, so almost all performances of Bach's works (which are usually at 440 Hz) are sharp.

Personally I think most things sound just as good down a notch, but 450 sounds like a sick dog.

the piano may be sharp-but this is a great performance. The music flows on and on like a stream. This is the way Bach would have wanted it!
