First time I saw Connie Smith (back in 69, I believe) I was flabbergasted....she couldn't BE more talented or beautiful...God went overboard with her :) her voice is iconic in country music..she's a giant. She could sing the telephone book and I'd listen to it. Her version of the great Canadian folk icon Gordon Lightfoot's classic (who I also love) is flawless...she obviously respected the integrity of Gord's vision for the song and made her cover just as memorable. I love Connie..always :)

@benoni45 It's always a pleasure to listen to Connie Smith, and Marty Robbins is no slouch ... but there is a haunting quality to Gordon Lightfoot's singing that makes his version the most memorable (and after all, it is his composition) .....

Connie Smith is Country superb! This gal is one of the all-tie great talents of true country music. Just a lovely voice and the face to go with it.

This is just amazing...song and performance. It just spins. You can sense all of life floating around this song, it sounds so real and connected to everything. It's so easy to suspend disbelief and really see Connie singing at that porch on a warm summer night. Connie Smith was and still is amazing!

@drummerbraves The song was originally written by Canadian Gordon Lightfoot. Marty's hit with the song did much to establish Lightfoot as a composer and artist in his own right. Love all the versions...

I love Connie's version of Ribbon Of Darkness as well as Marty Robbins' original version of the song. Thanks for uploading this.

Thanks...I get a tonne of requests for Connie Smith and Dolly Parton videos on a daily basis. I do my best to upload them as time allows. I've got boxes of old VHS and Beta tapes that need sifting through.

There are a couple of Hee Haws that Connie was on in 1975 and 1976 that aired on CMT and TNN. The 1975 Hee Haw had her singing "I've Got My Baby On My Mind" and the 1976 Hee Haw had her singing "Till I Kissed You" and "I Don't Wanna Talk It Over Anymore". Hope that you have these two on tape.

Connie made about at least a dozen appearances on Hee Haw over its 22 year run, but as far as the songs you've mentioned... 2 of those songs are already uploaded.
