At 10 years-old, Bryce took the controls of a Cessna 172 Skyhawk (under the careful supervision of experience flight instructor). We flew over west central Indiana, including the Cataract Lake area. Instructor Dick Stevens with Hendricks County Aviation (http://www.flyhca.com) was extremely patient (as he is with Bryce's dad :-) ) and has a calm demeanor that you would not believe. Finishing my private pilot lessons there, and Bryce will be behind me.

  • Its not hard to fly im only 14 and ive flown my grandpas cessna 310 turbo prop , im hoping to become a commercial pilot for westjet ..

  • @Millard97 We wish you the very best of luck in pursuing your license. I am Bryce's dad and few things compare to getting your pilot's license. As I am sure your grandpa will tell you, never get too lax and think that flying is too easy. Although we will never know for sure, there are probably quite a few accidents that took place while a pilot was on an "easy" flight. Be safe and good luck!

  • @Millard97 you may want to check out our more recent videos. Bryce is flying the Cessna at night from last Thursday. It was a good view of downtown Indianapolis.

  • @Millard97 That would be illegal if you didn't have an instructor.

The first license you can obtain is an RA (Recreational Aviation License) which you can get when you turn 15. After that theres GA License, PPL's CPL's etc...

  • @volcom1722 Good knowledge of the law! He's a bit away from PPL, but we are working on landings now that he can see over the cowling :-) We are hoping to venture out and perhaps rent planes in other areas of the country. We are always open to suggestions of cool places to fly and are happy to bring along other aviation buffs who know the area. Happy flying!

  • I'm 11 and I had my first flying lesson last year, and a few more this year (look at my videos) and I think it is great to find other people interested in the same things.

  • @jackbradburyfox Great video of you flying! I just finished flight school and would be happy to share my King School stuff with you. Have your parents let me know. Wouldn't charge you for it, but would need the DVDs back when you are done.

  • @bigjimbob3737 I don't know Indiana so I cant help you there, but if you come to Australia I can :P Good on Bryce, flying is a fun and rewarding experience. I remember my first lesson, I was flying in a Tecnam P92 Eaglet, a beautiful light aircraft.I was so surprised at how shaky it was due to it's light weight hitting the wind.I recommend flying in a LSA (Light Sport Aircraft). They are so much fun! A few LSA's that you should try are Jabiru J160,J170 and of course, the P92! :D

  • Great Job.. I'm jealous of that glass cockpit

  • Good luck bryce , become a pilot

  • @bigjimbob3737 Thank you very much
