Prince of Egypt - When you believe - Hebrew

After a year (!) of silence, I'm back and big time with one of the best songs ever I think. Your eyes can't be kept dry hearing those voices crying for freedom and peace.

I just wanted to state as well that it was very difficult to pass many of the phrases of the song, mainly the biblical ones throgh the translation. Hebrew after all, is very very ancient and poetic.

@khaza1wolfgurl These are two quite different things: Hebrews are an ethnic group, of semitic descent, spread around the world after the razing of the Second Temple of Shlomo by roman legions. Jews are those that follow hebrews' belief (mainly expressed in our holy books). Of course you can become a jew if it is your real will. We're called People of God because we have been the first people to worship a only Lord and recieve His laws, but we don't believe that God makes "race" distinction.

I am a Christian and I wonder if any of you might recommend a Hebrew course book or learning system? Rosetta Stone??? Any others? Do Jewish cultural centers mind if non-Jews join in their language courses?

interesting remark: 2:47 ("ashira le'adonay ki gao ga'ah")

can be translated as "i'll sing to god, because he rose",

or "i'll sing to god, for he is exalted"

OR can figuratively be translated to "i'll sing to god, for he created the (tide) wave".
