Hi, nice video. I have a question. Where did you buy the black ring that is between lid and airlock? Thanks

@robertprpic01 I typically use sanitizer water. I've tried vodka, but it usually evaporates before fermentation is complete. You can use any liquid, but sanitizer water or vodka is the safest to use since there is the possibility of the liquid in this type of airlock being sucked back into the fermenter. That won't happen with a three-piece airlock.

See, thats what I thought , but I came home after work today and there was no action, the lid on the fermentor bucket was raised about an 1/8 of an inch. I took off the red cap and the airlock started spewing everywhere. I poked micro holes in the cap for some sort of release. Next time I think I will use a three piece airlock or just a blow off hose! Ha

The music gives it character.
It's a grommet to seal the space where the airlock goes in. You can find one at Northern Brewer, just search for "grommet"

Nice man! I am also currently waiting for the bubbling on my first batch ever, a California imperial pale. Are you suppose to keep the red cap on the airlock? I read you should, to prevent mites and other contaminates from entering your brew but how does the c02 escape if it is covered? Rock on!

The CO2 escapes through the red cap - it's not air-tight.
