The Jewish Theater of Austria's 2008 production "der Garten im Schrank // ein Volksstück" ("the Garden in the Closet // a folk tale of sorts") by Warren Rosenzweig was awarded the 2008 Inter.Kultur.Preis (Interculture Prize) of Upper Austria. The open-air, environmental production was first performed in German and English on the square in front of Vienna's famous Baroque church, the Mariahilferkirche, in August through September 2008 with the following cast: Mimi Kilinger, Rita Hatzmann, Erwin Leder, and Warren Rosenzweig. Music: Abi Sina. German translation: Sonja Rosenzweig.
The Inter.Kultur.Preis was awarded by Fest ohne Grenzen (Festival without Borders) and was presented to Warren and Sonja Rosenzweig on September 17, 2008 by Austrian National Parliament President Barbara Prammer at Theater Phönix in Linz.
This interview with Warren Rosenzweig, Founder and Artistic Director of the Jewish Theater of Austria, was filmed at The Window in Vienna Neubau in August 2008 and includes footage of the production of "der Garten im Schrank" in Mariahilf. It appears here courtesy of Fest ohne Grenzen.
