This is a True HD 1080p video of the MTH Premier model of the Norfolk & Western (N&W) Y6b (2-8-8-2) articulated steam locomotive that came out in 2002. The prototype locomotive was a true Mallet, a compound articulated locomotive where the steam from the high pressure rear cylinders was reused in the low pressure front cylinders, which is why the front steam chest is larger than the rear. Please visit my web site - http://www.toytrains1.com - to see lots more videos and photos of model (and real) trains in action!

  • What curves are you running it on?

  • @LydeckerFan yeah, it sound ALMOST like a J class whistle...

  • Shame the whistle is wrong for a Y6b.

  • Thats my favorite articulated steam locomotive. They were among the most powerful in pulling force.

  • love it dude those aux tenders shouldnt be that expensive lol i love them though

  • Gotta love that long coal train!! Best video you put up yet!!

  • Excellent video. Can't wait until you redo the Erie Triplex in High Def. That's gonna look sweet.
