  • Thank you sir, for the EXCELLENT reloading videos. Found all of them to be informative and well presented. Please keep up the great work. Any chance you could address the basic issue of interpreting the reloading data when our rifle, barrel length, twist rate, primers or brass varies from that tested? Again... thank you for the quality presentations!

  • Thank you

  • Great commentary on the variables of ballistics. You've put things into perspective that I never got from reading the Hornady handbook.

I would sure like to see a video on the effects of different bullet alloys. I have some Bismuth I would like to alloy with lead but can't find any data or info on the subject

  • Thanks, I have worked up the .458 & like in the 450 marlin single-shot, I used the Barnes all copper spitzer (can't use pointy bullets in tube fed mags because the tips point on the next cartridge's primer - may detonate). I used this bullet (don't like the company) because copper & alloys are less dense & therefore oz per oz, you get a longer bullet (i.e. better BCs & lighter {stable bullets} are possible). I tried Barnes bullets in the .270 but didn't like the performance on game (w/bad shots)

  • Now you should make bad shots, but they do happen. The all copper simply don't fragment. They also don't make big holes. There is something to be said about BFHs & tracking deer.

A lot gets said about "penetration." Because of wt retention, all coppers do penetrate deeper but if a deer is 18-12" thick, come on... think about it

One more thing needs said, if your bullet exits the animal, the bullet did not expend/transfer 100% of its energy. Too much energy on exit could damage something else.
