This song isn't about any war,its a tribute to the men and women who went to spain to fight facism in the international brigades in the spanish civil war,mostly poor working class people,whilst the ruling classes did nothing,many people think if the facists in spain were beaten then maybe world war 2 would never have happened,but they did tolerate it and millions were next.

@bristolbabe94 What possible relevance can your age have? I'm confused... Surely good music is good whether you're 17 or 71 . That said, I am impressed and glad that a 17 year old woman has the sense to appreciate good sounds. An open minded youth :) there may yet be hope for mankind and music.

@martinlros Thanks for telling me that. I learned something new today. I like trhe fact that this song can be applied to other scenario's too. As the western governments erode our freedoms while attacking oil rich countries to plunder them for example. Anything I see as oppression or suppression I can thank the Manics for the phrase "If you tolerate this then YOUR childrfen will be next"
