Heartaches was written by the prolific songwriter Al Hoffman. Some of his other compositions include Papa Loves Mambo, So This Is Love, and more.

Heartaches was written by John Klenner (music) and Al Hoffman (lyrics) in 1931. Just one more incredible example of a doo wop group covering a great American standard of popular music.

The guy who sang bass was incredible. Gotta say that I have never heard a better bass singer. The work he did on this particular song is without equal by any other bass singer. Oh, lest I forget to mention: I like "Heartaches" better than "Blue Moon." Just a personal preference.
