At Beauty World Japan, Shinagawa Machinery Works displayed their Mini Asuka Tsukitaro which can be used to make mochi, a Japanese rice dough often used for desserts.
Traditionally mochi is made by two people. One person pounds the mochi with a mallet and the second person folds and reshapes the mochi in between each strike of the mallet.
The Mini Asuka Tsukitaro can do the work all by itself due to the metal handle which hooks, folds and prepares the mochi for the next strike. The whole process can be finished within about 3 minutes thus speeding up the process. The teflon coated pot makes it easy remove the mochi and is simple to clean. It is simple to use and the metal gate protects the users from injury. This can also be used for udon noodle dough.
