I remember that when I first heard "What's up" I immidiately thought "Oh my god, this is totally 'don't worry be happy' ", and I was so amazed when others didn't hear it.

Yes, I've been telling people the song is a ripoff for years, but NO ONE ever hears the similar melody. I think it's because the songs have completely different "feels". But let's face it, it's the same song.

Yeah i wouldnt go saying OMG its the same song.. but yes there are similarities. but you'll find that 90% of songs out there have their inspiration from other sings.. yet being slightly different.. ie. JET, Lady gaga. they all take melodies, riffs etc from other songs and tweak them a little.. Nirvana did it to. i dont think they "steal" them just get inspired by them

Yes, I thought the same when I heard the 4 non blondes song. Its not the same but they take alot from the melody.
