Ray Stevens (1939-) is a country/pop/novelty/gospel singer-songwriter, producer & arranger from Clarkdale, GA. He made his first recordings for Prep Records in 1958. A successful pop/country crossover artist, he has had many hits including "Ahab The Arab" "Gitarzan", "Everything Is Beautiful", "Misty" and "The Streak". In his long career he has recorded 93 studio albums. His last country single to chart"Osama Yo' Mama"(#50) was in 2002, earning him his first gold record award since "The Streak" in 1974. Ray is still very active on the performing scene today.

  • Ray Stevens is so underrated. Unfortunately, he will be best remembered for his comedy songs. But his work and voice was so much better than that as can be seen through "Mr. Business Man" and this song.

  • Love the seriious songs Ray did.  So talented.. Forever Ray Jeannie Quay

  • This song first appeared on Ray's last album for Monument, Have A Little Talk With Myself. I got the LP off ebay. Unfortunately, it has yet to get a complete release. Ray also covered Hey Jude and Help on that album. The Everything is Beautiful album had covers of She Came In Through The Bathroom Window and Something. It is on CD.
