Alfred Otto Heitzmann, 97, of Webster Groves, MO passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011. Beloved husband of Mary Jane (nee Mattox); loving father of James (Kristen) Heitzmann, Thomas (Pamela) Heitzmann, Catherine Heitzmann, John (Rita) Heitzmann; dear grandfather of Jessica, Devin, Stephen, Trevor, Neal, Gregory, Sarah, Rachel and Victoria Heitzmann; great-grandfather of Everleigh and Greyson Lovitt, dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Mr. Heitzmann grew up in South St. Louis and attended Cleveland High School. He received his B.A. degree from Washington University and his law degree at Columbia Law School. Prior to 1942, he was associated with the law firm of Hines, Rearick, Dorr & Hammond in New York City. After four years of service in the United States Army during World War II, he joined the firm of Lowenhaupt, Waite, Chasnoff & Stolar in St. Louis. In 1954 he was a co-founder of the law firm now known as The Stolar Partnership.
Mr. Heitzmann was a long-time member, elder, trustee and choir member of Webster Groves Presbyterian Church. He is a member of the American, Missouri, and St. Louis Bar Associations, and the Phi Beta Kappa Scholastic Society.
