The first time I ever saw this, I was HORRIFIED (I was six or something) and had nightmares about it for a long time. Then one day we were flipping channels and saw this, then I flipped out AGAIN because he has a HYDRALISK nesting in his EXPLODED TORSO. <3

Notice that this was never attempted again on this show or any other Trek so far.  Frankly I think the producers were trying to compete with Freddy's Nightmares, War of the Worlds, and Friday the 13th The Series because at the time all 3 of those shows had violence on the level of an R rated flick of that late 80's era. Too bad this was never followed up on in any of the shows later as it would have been cool to have seen these creatures again, albeit with better effects though.
