Now editting Yoshi's Island 2.

The last video had cheap deaths all around.
So what should I do with this stage?

Make it one long stage of cheap deaths.

The first half isn't that bad, but know this in advance: there is just one power-up block. So there will be no capes to safe fall with or flying over obstacles.

Make sure you hit the midway point.

The second half is nothing but run and jumps. I can't tell you how many times I died on this stage.

And there are no 1-ups either, just the usual one you get from the Dragon Coins.

  • You should turn on sprite buoyancy, and lower the goal post at the end by 1 (decrease its Z order so it appears behind the blocks).

Also, it's just sort of lazy to make a stage that's like 90% blocks.

Also, you should edit the pallets or something so the lava isn't grey.

  • Oh, I know about the lava color change. I deliberately left it grey.

What is sprite buoyancy? And for some reason, the goalpost always has the graphic glitch in it.

    Thanks for the advice.

  • Fun level, but doesn't look super hard.

  • Not hard, more like really annoying.

  • You know that you can edit level names, right? Please take the time to rename the level "Dark Forest". And 1:44 was really unfair. All in all, good job.

  • Right. I'm doing this in steps. First I wanted to mess around with design, then I'll go from there. And why was 1:44 unfair? This hack has a long way to go before it can be playable to others.

  • @PerfectGenius23 1. I agree, need to put more actualy ground than blocks

    2. Doesn't really seem like a forest.... more like a "Mud Field"

    3. The reason behind the glitch is because: You have to put the bottom lined up with the ground and put it behind the ground (press -)

  • You should have changed the goddam BG color and the sky color to make it look more interesting -.-

  • its not really dark

  • holy shit

  • i h8 those groundhogs- or watever that rush at u trying to get 2 u. and i want to see someone collect all the dragon coins...

  • This seems quite easy to be thruthful

  • I have to say, that stage looks impossible to beat for an average skilled player such as myself. How long does it take for you to make a stage like this, and then perfect it to peak difficulty?

  • Or just assemble it yourself using the Map16 page. It's a bit hard to determine how high it should be though.

  • you COULD just lower the goal post so where it overlaps the cement blocks, and then drag the cement blocks back over the glitched part and it'll cover it, tis what I do.
