Rethinking Depression Part 4, Helping Others With Depression Community Action Plan

Anna Miller, the founder and CEO of The Depression Project and Carol Creel, the President of LifeWorks Marketing discuss common myths surrounding mental health issues such as depression, bipolar disorders and anxiety problems. Are these experiences really mental illnesses as psychiatry and big pharma would have you believe? Is depression really caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain? Are there alternatives to treating these problems without the use of antidepressants or other medications or psychotropic drugs? What are some ways someone might be able to begin to recover from depression?

  • The idea that any pill could ever cure any complex problem is just silly . Why is it that major pharma companies like Phizer only spend 11% of their budget on research and development and over 55% on marketing ? It is because the drug and its effectiveness is not important . The only thing that matters is "Can we sell this ?" .

  • Whatever the case and whatever one does, one has to take into account that there is a connection between the body's ability to regenerate and THE LIVER, destroy this remarkable organ with drugs (prescribed or unprescribed) and face the consequences. Even the most "safest" of all medicines there are has side effects and this always goes through the magical organ "THE LIVER". Treat your liver with care and love, and it will take care of you!

  • Money is the root of ALL evil and you see this evidenced here in greed of the pharmaceutical sales. They have study groups to test these medications on animals and people who are treated as no more than a "guinea pig."

Only thing is I have no money to buy the medications. I have to heal my self through other avenues.

  • true a pill can't really truly fix anything long term eventually your body becomes resistant to them and you have to live a lifelong search for that new pill or pill combination. pills are really just a silver bullet.. treats the symptoms but not the root cause .. why would your body need some fake chemical that never existed in it in the first place? people refuse to see the practical. maybe its a vitamin deficiency or even more unknown.. overabundance like copper toxicity syndrome etc.

  • mineral imbalances like copper and zinc can mess up your emotions/moods too I can't go a week without vitamin C without feeling emotional but on it I feel totally calm and really hard to get to unless you touch a very sensitive subject which I only have one or two of

  • @JesusOurSalvation A person needs water to be aligned with their inner being in order to flow with new desires. The chemical imbalance is all the process foods, big Macs and pills man made crap given to you to make you sick and tired its part of the game corporate America plays. Drink ionized alkaline water, align your thoughts, give yourself an enema, get your life back. Dont look for others to make you happy, make yourself happy and you will see then how the vibration of the universe works

  • @bladdes210

Scientists have found real evidence that depression can be caused by chemical imbalances.

  • @Bongtasia depression IS a real illness, which should be taken seriously.

  • so is true we are the imagination of our selfs

  • its about time people starting talking publicly about the depression drug commercials....I think the same thing when I hear the commercials..."is anyone actually hearing what they are saying?"... Good job and thank you.
